God-fearing | Husband | Father | Businessman
Priorities are important. In fact they are essential. If priorities are not balanced and in order, life is not balanced and in order. I would be the first to give all credit for anything good I do to the perfect person and finished work of Jesus Christ. Out of that overflow, I am useful as a husband to my wife of 14 years, Sharon, and a proud father of three beautiful children.
From that foundation and support system, I'm able to effectively perform my duties as a bail bondsman, church servant, and hopefully, elected servant for Nevada.
A constitutional conservative, I see the role of government as a narrow, focused one. The role of the state and federal government is not to grow far-reaching and control the citizen. It is merely a necessary institution to maintain personal liberty, facilitate vital community interests, and protect the citizenry. The local, state, and federal governments do not have a duty to guarantee and provide prosperity or what they deem to be "fair" or equitable. Government intrusion that attempts to guarantee equal outcomes always ends up committing oppression and injustice. They (government officials and entities) have a duty to move out of the way to allow the free market and people to self-govern their lives--only intervening while applying essential services such as infrastructure, hospitals, policing, fire departments, necessary military endeavors, etc.
As a Las Vegas native, CCSD student, and then eventual UNLV graduate, I understand the community in which I've lived and worked for decades. By attending school in the Clark County School District from kindergarten through graduation, and later having a child in public school, I do have a grip on the dynamics, needs, and deficiencies here.
In the work force, I've worked Nevada jobs ranging from custodian, to fast food worker, to store manager, to fork lift operator, to Teamster, to real estate agent, to small business owner, and many jobs in between! I feel uniquely qualified in relating to almost any Nevadan. If you've struggled as a spouse, homeowner, father, employee, union member, renter, or business owner, I can likely empathize with your situation.
If you believe Nevada's best days are ahead, I'd would love for you to join me!
